John's Story
Started martial arts at the young age of 6. He began with Tae Kwon Do, and quickly reached the level of blue belt, when he won an Olympic gold medal. In high school, John had to halt his practice of martial arts as the dojo where he was studying closed down. But fighting was in his blood, and the need to get back into fight training took over. So John began to search for gyms. Towards the end of high school, at the age of 17, he found a Karate dojo that suited his purpose. He spent most of his time training with his instructor and competing in kickboxing tournaments.
In 2006 he won a gold medal in U.S.K.B.A in New Jersey at the World Kickboxing Tournament, where he solidified a reputation as a Champion, winning against the top fighters in his division. By this point, John had already changed instructors 4 times, so he left kickboxing with a 22 - 0 record and needing a new challange. He chose a fresh start and joined MMA, earning the nickname "The Bull". John joined Tri-Star Gym in Montreal, QC and started training with team Zahabi MMA. In 2008 he began his own training camp, Team Bull.
